I am constantly being asked of why I have chosen India for my internship. Simply said, it is a fast emerging economy and i believe it would be interesting to stay in a a place with a foreign culture.

For those who are interested to know more about India and its distinctiveness, several magazines are running articles on it this week.

The Last Rajah, by The Business Week, features Mr Ratan Tata who is the current Chairman of the Tata Group, the conglomerate I interned with. The article briefly introduces the group's history and ambition and the role played by Mr Ratan.

Tested Mettle, by The Economist, features Mr Anil Agarwal, founder of Vedanta Resources, a London listed mining company with $6.5 billion turn over last year. His philanthropic initiative to build an established university rivaling the Ivy Leageu in India speaks the ambition and role that Indian business assumes in the country.

India Charges Ahead, by Times, covers the promises and challenges of the world's largest democracy.

Lastly, Mess market: Indians embrace mogul's chaos theory (08/08), by The Wall Street Journal Asia, now owned by media mogul Rupert Murdoch, has an article on the retail sector in India. This article tells the India's unique preference in buying goods.

Dear all,

I am on the road right now and won't be having anymore internet for the next 2 weeks.

I love how the engagement with Tata has ended. Delnaaz, our HR in-charge, invited us to her Parsi's colony for a simple dinner with beers and chocolate cakes. :)

I managed to update the photos album. However, the comments and descriptions have not been included and they are obviously just random photos I have taken from the collection. A more complete version will be ready in...a month time.

My housemates are waiting for their turns to use internet.
